Sharm el-Sheikh – The City of Peace

It took us almost 7 hours of travel to Sharm from Cairo.  So better take Superjet than East Delta bus because it’s faster and  more clean.

Though I had hesitations because of the shark attack news, I was optimistic that it would be worth the visit.  We’re supposed to stay for just 2 days just to see the place, but we ended up extending our stay up to 7 days because of the excitement to experience the land and water activities.   We experienced star gazing, belly dancing and fire dance show, Beduin bread making, camel ride, snorkeling, whole day yachting to Tiran Island to see its coral reef and to witness the intriguing night life in Sharm.  There are lots of yachts around and people diving and snorkeling that had given me the confidence to join the group.

We stayed in Tropicana Hotel which is walking distance from Il Mercato (commercial complex).  It was clean, quite big for me and my sister, has a resort and a shuttle in going to Naama Bay.  The breakfast & dinner buffet are scrumptious and the staff are hospitable.

Naama Bay never runs out of people from day until night because it has a lot of resorts, restaurants, disco bars with different types of  activities.  After a stressful week, we pampered ourselves in the spa along Naama Bay.   I felt I was rejuvenated!
